The coveted Wat Phra Khao Yai in Pattaya is more popularly known as the Big Buddha, obviously because it is the largest Buddha in the region. This monument stands at 18 meters high and about a hundred meters above sea level. The peak of the hill net to the Buddha offers a panoramic view of the Pattaya landscape below and the Jomtien Beach outwards. There is also a temple complex that burns incense all day and has a lot of bells that provide a soothing feeling of calm when they ring. Up to this day, the temple is still flocked by monks and praying locals.
